Pinay eats 7 baluts in 4 minutes

Most of the contestants were non-Filipinos, but they all ate balut in the name of charity.Some of them were first-timers while others were hardcore balut-eaters.“This is my first time. I heard that it's gross and disgusting,” said one of the male contestants.Another one commented, “My record was about 18 and a half. I couldn't eat anymore because I was too drunk”.Kim Tantongco organized the event to raise fund for her favorite charity in the Philippines, Gentle Hands.Tantongco also featured the Pinoy delicacy in her own line of shirts sold during the contest.Part of the proceeds will go to the organization.“They rescue children from the streets of Manila. They care for them, they feed them, they give them education and eventually find them homes, permanent homes," Tantongco said.The winner in the beginner’s category finished the balut in a minute, while a Pinay reigned in the advance category having eaten 7 baluts in four minutes.
